The Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI) was established in 2002 to support and promote the mathematical sciences. The institute has a membership that includes most Australian universities as well as CSIRO and is located at the University of Melbourne campus.
AMSI is active in three main areas, scientific research, industrial applications of mathematics and education. It is involved in running workshops, conferences and summer schools as well as facilitating projects with industry.
